
Born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden, Stefan started his track and field career at the age of 12 when he began competing for the world renowned Orgryte Track Club. He started as a high jumper, and was trained with fellow athlete, Patrick Sjoberg (3 x Olympic Medalist, World Champion, and former World Record Holder.) Stefan excelled in many events, and quickly became an elite muti-eventer. He later focused on the throws, primarily shotput. in 1988, Stefan came to the USA on a track and field scholarship and competed for one of the most successful college track and field programs in the nation- Blinn Jr. College. He finished his college career at Angelo State University, where he met his wife, Jane who was also on the ASU track team. Stefan and Jane have lived in Boerne since 2007, and have 2 boys, Ben and Noah. The boys began competing in track and field at an early age, and were the primary reason for founding the Hill Country Comets in 2014. This year, Stefan will be focusing on coaching throws, high jump, and multi-events.
